GEM Resourcing is currently seeking an experienced Trade Qualified Welder to join a busy and growing fabrication workshop based south of the river.
Working across mining, industrial and construction projects, this role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of structural steel, plate fabrication and pipe spooling projects within a well-equipped workshop environment.
This position would suit someone looking for long-term employment with a company that values quality workmanship, safety and reliability.
About the Role Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be involved in the fabrication and welding of structural steel components, plate work and pipe assemblies for a range of ongoing projects.
Duties Include
- MIG, TIG and STT welding
- Fabrication of structural steel and plate components
- Pipe spool fabrication and welding
- Reading and interpreting workshop drawings
- Working with a variety of steel grades and materials
- Quality checking completed work
- Maintaining a safe and organised work area
- Assisting with workshop productivity and project deadlines
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification in Boilermaking/Fabrication
- Previous experience in a fabrication workshop environment
- Structural steel fabrication experience
- Pipe welding or pipe spooling experience highly regarded
- Strong welding skills across multiple processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
