Scheduler/Estimator About the role As a Scheduler/Estimator, you will play a vital role in the planning, costing, and coordination of high-end residential construction projects. Your accuracy and attention to detail will support smooth project delivery through precise scheduling, cost forecasting, and supplier engagement.
Working closely with site supervisors, office staff, and suppliers, you'll manage the flow of information and ensure every project is planned and priced to the highest standard. This is a key role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values accuracy, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
Duties include - Undertake material and labour take-offs (Bill of Quantities) for residential construction.
- Determine brick loads and materials required for each build.
- Liaise with suppliers daily via phone and email to coordinate pricing and lead times.
- Support and communicate with site supervisors regularly to ensure seamless on-site execution.
- Collaborate with other internal departments such as drafting and administration.
- Review and check roof layouts and take-offs completed by others.
- Action contract variations in line with the variation register booklet.
- Adjust budgets as required throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Credit extra-over materials that are no longer required.
- Coordinate roof claims and pre-orders, including lock-up stage call-ups.
- Maintain organised records and filing systems for supplier quotes and tenders.
- Complete and maintain quoting sheets, including sending plans out for pricing.
- Prepare tenders and budget estimates for multiple residential projects.
- Work closely with office and site teams to improve timelines and pricing accuracy.
- Review estimates and variations, ensuring documentation aligns with final concepts.
- Follow all company procedures and ensure consistency with internal standards.
To be considered for these positions, you must be able to provide the following: - 2+ years of experience in Scheduling/estimating, preferably in luxury residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of high-end building materials, finishes, and supplier networks.
- Proficiency in estimating software
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask across multiple tenders.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and client management skills.
- A high level of financial literacy and commercial acumen.
- Trade or tertiary qualifications in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Project Management (preferred).
- Must be based in Perth with full Australian work rights.
