FIFO Mobile Plant Operator – Civil / Mine Site Construction GEM Resourcing is currently seeking an experienced
Mobile Plant Operator for a FIFO construction project in the Ravensthorpe region of WA.
This role will involve operating a range of plant across civil works, trenching, lifting, materials handling and transport support. We are looking for a genuinely multi-skilled operator who is confident working closely with trades and completing
precision lifting and placement work, not just bulk earthworks.
The Role You will be operating:
- Skid Steer
- 5–20T Excavator
- Integrated Tool Carrier / IT Loader
- HR Truck
Your duties will include:
- Trenching, bedding and backfilling for underground services
- Working around power, potable water, wastewater, communications and compressed air services
- Excavating for footings, cast-in plates and hold-downs
- Lifting and placing building modules
- Lifting and positioning wall and roof panels
- Placement of tanks and containers
- Working to a spotter for precision lifting activities
- Load-out and transport support
- Load restraint
- General materials handling across project sites
- Trenching around live and buried services
- Daily plant pre-start inspections
- Basic servicing and operator maintenance
- Working safely around carpenters, trades and construction crews
About You To be considered, you must have:
- Minimum 3 years' operating experience on civil or mine site construction projects in WA
- Strong excavator, skid steer and loader operating experience
- Experience working around live and buried services
- Confidence placing loads accurately while working with a spotter
- Experience operating around active trade crews
- Strong understanding of safe lifting and materials handling practices
- Ability to complete daily plant inspections and servicing
- A safety-focused and reliable approach to work
This role involves a significant amount of
precision lifting and placement of building components, so operators with experience beyond traditional bulk earthworks will be highly regarded.
Multi-skilled operators ticketed and experienced across all required machines will be given preference.
Essential Tickets & Licences
- Construction Induction / White Card
- Current WA HR Driver's Licence – mandatory, no exceptions
- Excavator VOC or Unit of Competency – RIIMPO320
- Skid Steer Loader VOC or Unit of Competency – RIIMPO318
- Wheeled Front End Loader / IT VOC or Unit of Competency – RIIMPO321
