FIFO Carpenter
GEM Resourcing is currently seeking experienced
FIFO Carpenters for a construction project in the Ravensthorpe region of WA.
This role is suited to a trade-qualified carpenter with strong experience in
modular, transportable or relocatable buildings, including both dismantling and re-erection. Strong setting-out skills are essential.
The Role You will be involved in the complete relocation and reinstallation of transportable buildings, including:
- Dismantling transportable buildings and stripping internal fit-out
- Releasing tie-downs and assisting with service disconnections
- Tagging, wrapping and preparing building components for transport
- Setting out buildings accurately from construction drawings and site plans
- Working from survey control points and offsets
- Squaring and levelling building footprints
- Levelling, packing and shimming piers
- Checking diagonals and identifying discrepancies before installation
- Re-fixing cyclonic tie-down systems
- Re-sheeting wall and roof panels
- Re-hanging doors and windows
- Sealing, flashing and weatherproofing
- Installing internal linings and vinyl flooring
- Installing patio structures
- Installing shower screens and curtain rails
- Kitchen and laundry cabinetry installation
- Preparation for internal and external painting
About You To be considered, you must have:
- Certificate III in Carpentry or recognised equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' experience with modular, transportable or relocatable buildings
- Previous experience completing a full dismantle and re-erect cycle
- Experience with both steel-framed and timber-framed transportables
- Strong experience with cladding and roof sheeting
- Understanding of cyclonic tie-down systems
- Ability to work independently without relying on a supervisor for setting out
Strong Setting-Out Skills Are Essential Candidates must be confident reading and interpreting:
- Construction drawings
- Site plans
- Floor plans
- Footing and pier layouts
- Service penetration locations
You must be able to accurately set out a building from drawings, work from survey control and offsets, square and level the footprint, check diagonals and identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions before installation begins.

- Current WA Driver's Licence

Carpenters will be required to provide a
full carpentry trade kit, including:
- 18V cordless circular saw
- Impact driver
- Drill
- Reciprocating saw
- Multi-tool
- Angle grinder
- Spare batteries and charger
- Laser level
- String line and chalk line
- Squares and levels
- Tin snips and nibbler
- Rattle gun
- Socket set
Consumables, fixings, plant, generators and site power will be supplied.
