Business Development Manager – Technical Sales

An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced
Business Development Manager with a strong engineering and technical background to join a successful and growing business servicing the mining, industrial, commercial and rural sectors across Western Australia.
This is more than a traditional sales role. We are seeking a commercially driven professional who can combine technical knowledge with strong relationship-building skills to identify opportunities, develop new markets and deliver tailored solutions for industrial clients.

The Role
You will be responsible for driving business development activities, expanding the client base and strengthening existing relationships across key industrial sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities and target markets.
- Managing technical sales opportunities and providing practical solutions.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, project managers and key stakeholders.
- Promoting quality engineered products and solutions to industrial markets.
- Maintaining up-to-date product and industry knowledge.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and customer outcomes.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams to support successful project delivery.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- A Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant technical qualification.
- Minimum 3 year's experience in technical sales, business development or a related industry role.
- Experience within one or more of the following sectors – Expected to have a large Network already in these spaces, someone who is actively on LinkedIn:
- Mining or mining services
- Industrial or commercial construction
- Industrial waste
- Conveyor systems
- Scrap metal, recycling or heavy industry
- Strong understanding of engineering solutions, fabricated products and industrial applications.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a genuine passion for sales and business growth.
- The ambition and commitment to become a long-term contributor to the future success of the business.
